Old English

I am reporting about Old English(O.E.) now.It is spoken A.D. 600 to about 1100. The people of British was called Celts. They were living by hunting or farming.
In the latter half of the 5th century, ethnic group of Jutes, Angles, Saxons and so on, took hold at Briton.
A.D.849, the king Alfred was born in England as youngest son of former king.
A.D.878, Denmark was defeated by Alfred.
In the 9th century, Dialect of Saxons bloc became dominance to take over for dialect of Marcia bloc. You can think as the reason is for appearance of the king Alfled who is a person of influence of Saxons.
Still in the 7th century, letters are runic alphabet of bloc of north Europe, however It is change to the Latin alphabet with the Christianity religion spread.
The oldest epic of O.E. is Beowulf. It is written by dialect of Saxons bloc.
